Art Compactor Background
The Art Compactor is a multi-disciplinary studio facility dedicated to the creative process and its fulfillment. We offer short term studio spaces, each customizable to fit the demands of the artist within.
The Art Compactor resembles a community, one that is regularly infused with new energy and ideas. There is a spontaneous cross-pollination of concepts and techniques that occurs within such a setting which adds to the overall quality of its character while enriching the experience of everyone involved.
What separates us from traditional artist studio’s is our fluid approach to space and time. The studios within our facility are available short term allowing individuals that don’t have adequate work space or the financial resources to maintain a studio on a month to month basis to aquire a “private” studio and produce.
Each space strives to be transparent - artists enter into a clear space - tabula rosa - walls are white… primed for ideas, ready for action. The studio spaces come in a variety of sizes and can be fully customized to suit the needs of your project.
We offer an on-site, secure storage facility available for the duration of your project and/or for extended periods. Other services and equipment available include a kiln, an arc welder, assorted production lighting and accessories, a cyclorama, and a forklift.
Studio’s are available on a minumum 30 day rental with a maximum of two years (renewable on a quarterly basis). Prices vary according to size.
We are located near the Port of Los Angles, close to Long Beach, San Pedro and a hop from L.A.
